Kevin La Fleur was born in Texas - land of cowboys, dust, and pride - but was raised in the shadows, and amongst the majesty, of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado,
in an idyllic town by the name of Loveland to be exact. The oldest of three, he was a normal, healthy, happy child. Nothing much differentiated him from other
children his age. He did have a habit of singing around the house, driving his parents and two younger siblings crazy, but it was just a part of who he was, and
no one thought much of it, including himself.

Life went on and suddenly Kevin was all grown up and in high school. But something was missing. Kevin lacked drive, a passion, and he floated from class to class,
sport to sport, without a purpose, without real life. And then something, he wish he could say what - perhaps a "gut" feeling, or a little voice - told him to audition
for the school musical. He had never acted, he had never sung publicly, and yet he knew it was something he had to do. Nervous, shy, even scared, Kevin auditioned for
the musical and nearly won the starring role! A part in the musical, as well as an invitation to join the school choir followed, and it wasn't long before Kevin noticed
that he was happier, that he had a skip in his step, that he looked forward to school. It seemed that Kevin had fortuitously found himself in music.

Singing professionally, however, seemed to Kevin an impossible dream - in fact, given no real thought - and he moved to a land far, far away called Boston, Massachusetts
where he attended Boston College and double majored in Marketing and Finance. Saddled with business speak and numbers, he merely drifted through his classes, neither
                                much understanding or caring.

But music was never far. He enrolled in voice lessons and was a member of the University Chorale, traveling to Ireland, Vienna, Prague, and Rome during his time with
them, and he auditioned for and won parts in musical theater, "Will" from Oklahoma being his very favorite. And his habit of singing around the house still remained an
irresistible urge, only this time he drove his college roommates crazy instead.

Yes, the pull of music was strong, but doubt was stronger, and Kevin ignored its call once more when upon graduation he moved to another land far, far away called
Los Angeles to pursue acting, which amounted to a whole lot of disappointment and waiting tables, of course. With the financial constraints of rent, bills, and acting
class, singing was forgotten. But fate has a funny way of leading us to where we need to be and this was no exception in Kevin's life.

Out of the blue a dear friend of Kevin's from college - a girl who was so taken with his voice she often had Kevin sing her to sleep in the dorms - called to announce
her engagement and ask if Kevin would please sing at her wedding ceremony. Feeling flattered, but most of all rusty, Kevin quickly found a voice teacher and got to work.
At first he was discouraged by his lack of range, by his shaky scales, but he improved quickly and soon enough felt confident that he would be able to proudly sing for
his dear friend on her special day. He smiled at the thought, and then noticed that he had been smiling a whole lot more lately. In fact, he felt lighter, he even felt
that old skip in his step. Kevin was finally making the connection that had eluded him thus far: that it was singing that made him happiest. He bubbled up to the point
where he confessed this to his voice teacher. "That's because this is what you should be doing with your life" she said calmly, and so confidently that Kevin couldn't
help but consider it. 'What?' he thought, 'the impossible dream?' "Yes" the voice teacher replied, without Kevin having to voice his astonishment, "the impossible dream".
And this time Kevin believed it could be.

...and that is how Kevin La Fleur came to be where he is, chasing his "impossible dream", singing for his supper, and loving every minute of it, with a smile and a
                                slight skip in his step.
